What are parabens in cosmetics?

Parabens are a group of chemical preservatives used in cosmetics, personal care and pharmaceuticals. Going through the ingredients label might not seem worth it, but what if we say there are added chemicals mixed in certain formulas, for example, parabens, that are typically hidden from consumers.

Parabens are added to cosmetics to stop the growth of bacteria, fungi, yeast, and other potentially damaging microbes. Many researchers have typically found that parabens contribute directly to the quality of the products by extending their shelf life.

Does Skin story include Parabens in products?

Skin story aims to be safe, non-toxic, and vegan. Here, we are on a journey of providing non-harmful products and want to be transparent with all our ingredients to let our consumers know why we are different from other brands.

We at skin story are great believers in clean beauty therefore ingredients such as parabens are kept well away from our products. The use of products containing such harmful chemicals leads to the skin getting brittle, cracked, painful and can cause skin conditions such as dermatitis.

If we had to pick one ingredient to stay away from, it would be parabens. These are harmful to humans as well as the environment! It is found that around 70-90% of parabens are found in cosmetics; alarming, isn't it?

We highly recommend avoiding parabens and starting using paraben-free products.

The best way is to ensure what you put onto your skin is “Clean Products”.
